Otto Knot opened it’s doors on March 2017 and is a great little hidden gem right between JR Takatsuki and Hankyuu Takatsuki station.
“Otto Knot” is derived from the Italian word Otto which means 8 and the word Knot which together symbolically stand for infinite loop.
The cafe is well hidden in an alley 2 streets behind the main shopping street that “connects” Hankyuu Takatsuki and JR Takatsuki stations.
Going up a narrow staircase to the 2nd floor you will immediately see the cozy interior of OTTO KNOT through the big windows of the sliding doors. Going through the sliding doors, on the left you will find the cafe and on the right there is a small picnic accessories shop and a shared office space. In the middle of the cafe is a big open stairwell that leads to another shared office space on the third floor.
The cafe has big windows which look out on the small alley with houses on the opposite side. The big windows let in all the light coming from outside and gives the cafe a great warm atmosphere even if it has rained. When it gets darker outside you will be able to enjoy the numerous decorative lights all around the shop.
The food is great offering New York style toasted sandwiches among other things throughout the day. The cafe also sells handmade cupcakes and prepacked tea.
If you have the chance, this place is DEFINITELY worth a visit.
